Configurable XT40-2 boring and milling spindle head for special-purpose machines, modular machining stations and equipment retrofit projects.
- Spindle interfacesNT40 / MT4 / ER40
- Published speed4,500 rpm; 7,000 rpm NSK option
- Spindle-head weight35 kg
- Published roundness≤ 0.004 mm
Send the operation, workpiece, tooling, target speed, load, duty cycle and machine interface drawing for configuration review.
Final specifications depend on the workpiece, tooling, cutting load, duty cycle, motor and machine interface.
XT40-2 configurable spindle platform
A 40-taper spindle platform selected around cutting load, speed and machine integration.
XT40-2 is a configurable boring and milling spindle head for machine builders and retrofit teams. Select the spindle interface, bearing grade, motor, drive ratio and motor position only after the process and installation envelope have been reviewed.
Application fit
The model name is only a starting point. Final selection follows the workpiece, operation, tooling and real machine layout.
Special-purpose machines
Dedicated boring, milling or combined stations designed around a defined part and production cycle.
Modular machining units
Spindle modules integrated with mechanical, hydraulic or CNC slide-table assemblies.
Medium-duty production
Applications requiring a 40-taper-class interface with configurable motor and belt drive.
Retrofit projects
Replacement or upgrade work where mounting, center height and service clearance can be verified.

The table follows the cited XT40-2 catalog. Final speed, load, motor, drive ratio, dimensions and acceptance conditions must be stated in the approved drawing and quotation.
Catalog reference: JNYO product catalog, printed pages 11–12 (PDF page 9). Chinese edition, approximately 74 MB. The catalog lists 4,500 rpm and an NSK-bearing 7,000 rpm option; confirm the complete configuration and operating limit. Roundness is not a spindle-runout specification or a guarantee of finished workpiece accuracy.
Choose the physical arrangement first
Compare the platform, front-mounted motor and rear-mounted motor layouts before fixing the electrical and pulley specification.
Front-mountedXT40-2-MFMotor arranged toward the spindle front. Confirm front space, guarding and maintenance access.
Rear-mountedXT40-2-MBMotor arranged toward the rear. Confirm rear clearance, belt path and service access.
Five inputs for a useful recommendation
Boring, milling, drilling or a combined process.
Material, feature size and required cycle time.
Tool type, diameter, interface and target speed.
Cutting load, roundness, finish and duty-cycle requirements.
Mounting drawing, center height, envelope, orientation and motor control.
XT40-2 selection questions
Confirm these items before the drawing and quotation are approved.
How do I choose between NT40, MT4 and ER40?
Start from the tool interface, cutting load, tool-change method and required accuracy. Send the tool specification and operation so the complete spindle configuration can be checked.
Is 7,000 rpm available on every XT40-2?
No. The published chart lists 4,500 rpm as the standard value and 7,000 rpm with the NSK-bearing option. The approved limit still depends on the spindle, bearings, drive ratio, motor, cutting load and duty cycle.
What is the difference between XT40-2-MF and XT40-2-MB?
MF uses a front-mounted motor arrangement; MB uses a rear-mounted arrangement. Compare both drawings against the machine envelope, guarding, belt path and maintenance access.
Can JNYO provide a dimensional drawing or 3D model?
Dimensional and compatible 3D files can be requested for integration review. Include the spindle interface and motor arrangement so the matching file is selected.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Send the workpiece material, operation, tool details, target speed, cutting load, accuracy requirement, machine interface drawing, motor preference, quantity and destination country.
Move from product review to machine integration.
Use the model as a starting point. The approved dimensional drawing and configuration record remain the final integration reference.
Confirm mounting faces, center height, spindle interface and machine envelope.
