Application fit

Start with the workpiece and process. The model name is only a starting point; final selection follows the tooling, load and real machine layout.

01

Reduced non-cutting time

Automatic tool change can reduce manual intervention when the complete machine sequence is designed together.

02

Process concentration

Combine multiple boring, milling or drilling operations in one controlled machining station.

03

Repeatable tool positioning

Use a compatible holder, magazine, gripper and spindle-orientation strategy for repeatable changes.

04

Machine-builder integration

Coordinate rear clearance, unclamping, sensors, control logic, guarding and maintenance access.

Published selection data

Model platform XT40-2 BT40 motorized boring and milling spindle head with automatic tool change
Spindle interface BT40, 7:24 taper
Tool change Automatic tool change with an unclamping cylinder; magazine, gripper and control sequence are application dependent
Servo spindle motor reference 3.7 kW / 23.6 N·m is labeled on the ATC assembly drawing; this is a pictured configuration, not a universal motor specification
Three-phase motor reference 1.5–4 kW options are shown in the published motor data
Servo motor reference 1.5–3.7 kW; 2,000 rpm rated and 7,000 rpm maximum listed for the ATC configuration
Spindle-head assembly weight 95 kg is shown for the pictured ATC assembly; actual assembly weight depends on configuration
Published roundness ≤ 0.004 mm; confirm measurement point, method and acceptance conditions
Published temperature rise ≤ 20°C under the conditions represented by the published data
Coolant option External coolant or a through-spindle coolant variant can be evaluated against the tool and machine design
Integration file Request the matching BT40, motor, ATC and coolant interface drawing before integration
Series spindle speed reference 2,500 / 4,500 / 7,000 rpm; 7,000 rpm requires the listed NSK-bearing configuration. Confirm the complete variant and drive ratio
Series bearing reference 2,500 rpm: NN3011/234411BM1 with 7010AC/DB; 4,500 / 7,000 rpm: 7011AC/TBT with 7010AC/DB

The 3.7 kW / 23.6 Nm motor and 95 kg assembly values are references shown in the published ATC configuration data. Confirm the motor, torque curve, tool system, magazine, cycle sequence and final assembly weight for the order.

Choose the configuration around the machine

Compare the physical arrangement, tool interface, ATC and coolant requirements before fixing the motor and control specification.

Five inputs for a useful recommendation

Operation

Boring, milling, drilling or a combined process.

Workpiece

Material, feature size and required cycle time.

Tooling

Tool type, diameter, interface and target speed.

Performance

Cutting load, finish, accuracy and duty-cycle requirements.

Integration

Mounting drawing, center height, envelope, orientation and control.

XT40-2-E-BT40-MB selection questions

Confirm these items before the drawing and quotation are approved.

What is included in the BT40 ATC configuration?

The published configuration shows a BT40 7:24 spindle, motor drive and automatic tool-change hardware with an unclamping cylinder. The magazine, gripper, sensors and control sequence must be matched to the machine.

Can the ATC cycle time be specified from the product page?

Cycle time depends on the magazine, tool mass, control sequence, spindle orientation and machine motion. Request a complete cycle review instead of using a generic time claim.

When should I consider the through-spindle coolant variant?

Consider it when deep-hole cooling or chip evacuation is important. Tool compatibility, pressure, flow, sealing and machine plumbing must be reviewed before selecting the CTS/TSC option.

Is the 3.7 kW / 23.6 Nm motor value universal?

It is a reference shown in the published ATC configuration image, not a universal promise for every build. Confirm the motor, torque curve, drive, pulley ratio and duty cycle for the order.

What information is needed for an ATC quotation?

Send the tool list, holder standard, magazine capacity, tool mass and length, change sequence, spindle orientation, coolant requirement, machine envelope and destination country.

Catalog source and configuration limits

JNYO product catalog, printed pages 17–18 (PDF page 12); ATC and CTS drawings, printed pages 19–20 (PDF page 13); Chinese edition, approximately 74 MB.

Spindle speed and motor speed are separate values; output speed depends on the selected drive ratio and complete configuration. Catalog roundness and temperature rise require defined measurement and operating conditions and are not guarantees of workpiece accuracy. HP and kW retain the source units.

The website groups this variant under the enhanced E series; the source drawing is labeled XT40-2-BT40-MB. Match the complete tool interface, clamping system and configuration list rather than relying on the shortened series name.

NT40 rear-drawbar and BT40 automatic tool-change arrangements are shown separately. ATC does not by itself include through-spindle coolant; CTS also requires compatible tooling, a coolant passage, rotary union, supply, filtration and control interfaces.

Define the tool system before specifying the XT40-2-E BT40 ATC package.

Send the tool list, magazine concept, tool mass, change sequence, spindle orientation, rear envelope and control requirements for a complete integration review.
