CNC Slide Table Cleaning and Maintenance Checklist
A practical CNC slide-table maintenance checklist covering cleaning, lubrication, fasteners, accuracy adjustment, environmental control, coordinate setup, cooling, and long-term storage.

JNYO CNC slide tables are used in drilling, milling, boring, combination, and special-purpose machine tools. They are particularly useful for batch production of complex components and for processes that require controlled motion. A slide table can also be combined with a power box, multi-spindle box, drilling head, boring head, milling head, and workpiece fixture to create a complete working cycle.
1. Daily cleaning
Clean the external and internal working areas regularly, with particular attention to chips, dust, and other debris that could affect movement. Use a suitable cleaner and dry the equipment fully after cleaning to reduce the risk of rust and contamination. During assembly and service, prevent dust and dirt from entering the slide-table mechanism.
2. Scheduled lubrication
Select the lubricant specified for the slide table and apply it at the required interval and lubrication points. Sliding surfaces and transmission components normally require attention. Correct lubrication reduces friction and wear; both over-lubrication and under-lubrication should be avoided.
3. Fasteners and component inspection
Check fasteners regularly to confirm that they remain secure. Inspect slide blocks, guideways, guide mechanisms, and other wear surfaces. Repair or replace damaged or severely worn parts before they affect accuracy or safe operation.
4. Accuracy adjustment
Check the mechanical accuracy of the moving assemblies at suitable intervals and correct shape or position error when necessary. Confirm smooth travel and working accuracy after adjustment or calibration. Abnormal movement or accuracy loss should be investigated promptly.
5. Temperature and environment
Operate the slide table within a stable temperature range suitable for the machine. Provide adequate ventilation and heat dissipation, and protect the equipment from corrosive substances, excessive vibration, and heavy dust.
6. Programs and coordinate setup
Prepare and adjust the machining program according to the workpiece requirements so the slide table follows the intended path and parameters. Set the workpiece coordinate origin accurately and align it with the slide-table coordinate system to support consistent machining.
7. Cooling-system maintenance
Inspect the cooling system and keep it operating correctly. Add or replace coolant at the appropriate time and keep the coolant clean and effective.
8. Long-term storage
Before a long storage period, protect moving parts with the specified oil or grease to reduce the risk of rust and corrosion. If a feed axis or spindle uses a DC motor, follow the equipment manufacturer’s storage procedure for carbon brushes and commutators. Periodic energizing may also be required in humid seasons to help control moisture in electrical components.
